Looking for Library Board Members

LOOKING FOR BOARD MEMBERS FOR THE LIBRARY

The Board is seeking members to assist in the governance of the Whitewater Region Public Library Board. The Library has three branches in Foresters Falls, Cobden and Beachburg.

Responsibilites of a Board Member:

Attend and be prepared to participate in monthly meetings that are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month (with the exception of July, August and December).
Discuss and vote on issues pertaining to operating and financing the Library.
Attend and participate in events or promotions the Library may host for the purpose of community involvement and/or fundraising.
Be an advocate for and liaison between the community and the Library.

You must be at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, reside in Whitewater Region, and not be an employee of the Library or the Township.  Interest in literacy and libraries, as well as experience with volunteering and fundraising would be considered assets.
