On Thursday, May 18th, at 7pm, the Bromley Historical Society is pleased to welcome Professor David A. Wilson, who will speak on “The Fenians and The Origins of the Canadian Spy Service”. This talk, which is free to the public, will take place in the basement of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Highway 17, Cobden. Born in County Antrim, Ireland, Professor Wilson is a professor of Celtic Studies and History at the University of Toronto. His book, Canadian Spy Story, Irish Revolutionaries and the Secret Police, was published by McGill-Queen’s Press, in 2022. This talk is the Society’s 2023 Dan Gorman Memorial Lecture. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation. Copies of the book will be available for sale.
